[Dean reaches for the other sandwich and takes a bite, eyebrows raising slightly at Hiro's open use of his powers. He reaches out and takes the sphere, turning it over in his hands. Five feet wasn't much to work with, but Dean didn't need his powers to take Sylar down - and it would probably be better if he didn't use them. The last thing he needed was to accidentally kill the guy and break his word to Batman.
He check out the device, notes the buttons, but he doesn't press them. This isn't exactly the kind of thing he wants people to notice he has and if there are any imPorts close enough, they'd probably notice if their powers disappeared.]
These should work for now. You'll let me know if you come up with anything else?
[Sylar had proven himself harder to track than most of the things that Dean had hunted back home, although that was mostly to do with the fact that he hadn't killed again. That sort of thing should be good news, but it set Dean more on edge than anything else to know that the other man was out there, just biding his time.]
And with the collar. Is there anyway to keep him from just taking it off?
Yeah, totally. I'm working on the range and the duration still - it's just tricky. It's a work in progress though.
[ It's too late anyway - Sylar's already noticed the kid. But that's a story for another thread. Also: he hadn't mentioned the duration before, but fortunately he's about to go into that too. ]
It's got a lock on it that'll turn on automatically once it's activated. Push the button, slap it on his wrist, and you're good. The collar will last as long as the battery does, which is a while. The other one ... that's more like thirty minutes. Longer than that and the battery will completely short out. You're gonna have to get him with the projectile first and then get him in the other one, basically.
... Also, uh. Don't try them out on yourself. I get crazy headaches with those things on.
[ Mostly because he has his supergenius intellect as a power, not that he knows that. ]
Alright. I should be able to get close enough to use this. [It would be an advantage of having the same power and spending more time on mastering it. Hopefully it would be good enough. And then all he had to do was slap the collar on Sylar's wrist and figure out what the hell to do with him.]
Push the button, slap it on his wrist. Got it. Okay. Any clue how long a "while" is? We talking days, weeks... what?
[The warning to not try the devices out on himself gets a nod, but Dean's not exactly planning on following that advice. He wants to make sure for himself that they work, and the best way to do that is to test them out.]
Thanks though. For doing this. I'll keep you updated. [And maybe they can actually get around to that conversation about Sylar having noticed Hiro.]

Sorry for the late. I'm out of the country and it's slow going

... Somebody's got to help, y'know? And I kinda do stuff like this back home. [ Including getting in way over his head, oops. ]
